Lisa Siefert is a Shareholder in the Pittsburgh Office of GRB Law. She is an experienced litigator, and a trusted advisor with an extensive employment counselling background. Lisa is devoted to developing cohesive and captivating case theories and strategies aimed to resolve disputes efficiently.  Her dynamic and passionate personality resonates with her clients, who consider her an articulate and resolute advocate for their interests.

Lisa represents both public and private employers, ranging from school districts and municipalities, to insurance carriers, small businesses, and Fortune 500 companies.  She helps her clients develop policies and procedures, draft employment handbooks, and prepare business contracts.  She routinely advises clients on best practices for discipline, termination, and other workplace issues.  She also conducts workplace investigations into complaints of retaliation, harassment, and violations of Federal statutes, like Title VII and Title IX.

Lisa defends against employers in jury and nonjury trials at the state and Federal levels, such as  discrimination based upon age, race, gender, religion and disability; First Amendment and political affiliation; and charges of institutional sexual assault.  She also represents clients in administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity, Pennsylvania Human Relations and Civil Service Commissions, and the Department of Labor.  Lisa also serves as counsel to employers in  unemployment compensation claims, Occupational Safety and Health investigations.

Lisa has represented both individuals and companies in personal injury, premises and product liability, and wrongful death and survival claims.  She aims for early resolution, but in cases where trial is inevitable, she will minimize and mitigate risk, ensuring her clients achieve the best outcome possible.  She has a proven track-record of securing settlements that surpass client expectations

In addition to this work, Lisa  advises and represents boards of boroughs, townships, school districts, and municipal authorities.  She has represented municipal clients in local agency hearings, ranging from school board hearings to hearings before the Civil Service Commission, as well as in prosecuting code enforcement violations, both at the magistrate and Court of Common Pleas levels.  She also advises and represents clients in complex private and public construction claims of design error, omission, delay, defective workmanship, and bond disputes.  She also negotiates and drafts construction contracts.

Lisa earned her law degree from the Duquesne University School of Law where she was a member of its nationally renowned trial advocacy team.  She received her BA in Public Policy Analysis, with concentrations in Economics and Public Administration, from Saint Vincent College.  She is a member of her county and state bar associations, and is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, the federal District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.  In 2023, Lisa was selected as a member of the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers.  She has also earned Lead Counsel Verification for excellence in her field and for maintaining professional and ethical standards within her legal community.
