Tanner De Witt announces with great pleasure the appointment of Michael Kot and Mark Chiu as the newest members of the Employment department. The practice has a Band One ranking from Chambers and Partners.
Michael qualified in 2014 after obtaining an LLB and PCLL from the University of Hong Kong. Prior to joining Tanner De Witt in November 2018, Michael worked as a solicitor at an established Hong Kong law firm and handled a wide range of employment matters. Michael is a keen traveller and often competes in running events.
Mark read law at the University of Durham in the United Kingdom and subsequently attended The University of Hong Kong, where he obtained his PCLL degree. Mark joined Tanner De Witt in October 2018 from the Equal Opportunities Commission of Hong Kong (EOC), where he worked as an Assistant Legal Counsel. He specialises in anti-discrimination laws, investigations and claims, in particular in the employment context.
Russell Bennett, Partner and Co-Head of the Employment Practice at Tanner De Witt, said:
“It is wonderful to have Mark and Michael join our rapidly growing team. Michael contributes an experienced outlook thanks to his prior role in employment law, while Mark adds another dimension to our practice due to his experience in anti-discrimination claims at the Equal Opportunities Commission. We look forward to them adding further depth and capabilities to the wide range of services offered by the Employment department.”
